Russel Crowe
7th April 1964
Wellington, North Island,Newzealand
Actor
Two time oscar winner for his performances
Born in New Zealand, Russell has made his home in Australia since he was a small child. The son of movie set caterers, Russell got the acting bug early in life. Beginning as a child star on a local Australian TV show, Russell's first big break came with two films ... the first, Romper Stomper (1992), gained him a name throughout the film community in Australia and the neighboring countries. The second, The Sum of Us (1994), helped put him on the American map, so to speak. Sharon Stone heard of him from Romper Stomper (1992) and wanted him for her film, The Quick and the Dead (1995). But filming on The Sum of Us (1994) had already begun. Sharon is reported to have held up shooting until she had her gunslinger-Crowe, for her film. With The Quick and the Dead (1995) under his belt as his first American film, the second was offered to him soon after. Virtuosity (1995), starring Denzel Washington, put Russell in the body of a Virtual Serial Killer, Sid6.7 ... a role unlike any he had played so far. Virtuosity (1995), a Sci-Fi extravaganza, was a fun film and, again, opened the door to even more American offers. L.A. Confidential (1997), Russell's third American film, brought him the US fame and attention that his fans have felt he deserved all along. Missing the Oscar nod this time around, he didn't seem deterred and signed to do his first film with The Walt Disney Company, Mystery, Alaska (1999). He has recently achieved even more success and awards for his performances in Gladiator (2000) and A Beautiful Mind (2001).

New York, the "Empire State", has been at the center of American politics, finance, industry, transportation and culture since the Dutch Republic first founded New Netherland as a trading colony in the 17th century. That colony would be lost to the Kingdom of England and later, from Great Britain, would gain its independence in the American Revolution to eventually become part of the United States.

Ellora is located 30 km from Aurangabad, which is quite well connected, to Mumbai and Delhi via Manmad by rail. Aurangabad can also be reached by road from Pune Ahmednagar, Jalgaon, Shirdi, Nasik, and Dhule
The Maharashtra Tourism Corporation Holiday resort near Aurangabad railway station, the Ajanta travellers lodge at the caves and the M.T.D.C. Holiday resort at Fardpur (4 Km from Ajanta) provide clean and comfortable accommodation.
Ellora is the finest example of cave temples with almost 34 caves with intricate interiors and ornamental facades. Carved during the 350 A.D. and 700 A.D., the rock temples and monasteries represent three faiths - Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.
Cave 10 is a Chaitya-hall (prayer hall) and is popularly known as 'Visvakarma' with a seated Buddha in a Stupa. The Ramesvara cave has figurines of river goddesses adorning its entrance. The Dumar Lena cave is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Among the Viharas (residences of the monks). Cave 5 is the largest. The most impressive vihara is the three - storeyed cave called 'Tin - Tala'.
The Kailasa temple in cave 16 is a masterpiece in itself. The temple that took nearly 100 years to be completed, is decorated with themes and incidents from the Puranas. Consisting of exquisite carvings, the cave temple is the most striking one amongst the other 30 at the site. Though carved out of one single rock, the temple looks like a freestanding structural southern type temple.
The exterior of the temple is richly carved with niches, plasters, windows as well as images of deities, mithunas (erotic male and female figures) and other figures. Most of the deities at the left of the entrance are Shaivaite (followers of Lord Shiva) while on the right hand side the deities are Vaishnavaites (followers of Lord Vishnu).

It's not as pretty as the iPhone, but the T-Mobile G1, the first smartphone to run Google's sleek new Android operating system, has a slick slide-out keyboard, a big bright screen and a lot of power. The "Google Phone" supports loads of applications downloaded from the online Android marketplace — games and programs, like encyclopedias, guitar-teaching tools and time-wasters like Pac-Man — and easily handles graphics-heavy applications such as Google Maps, Web browsing and video. The Android marketplace isn't as robust as the iPhone app store yet, but someday it will be, as more Android phones hit the market and developers start churning out apps.
